Though late drama helped Saints bounce back with an Aviva Premiership win at Harlequins, Jim Mallinder has called for consistency from his side.
Ben Foden crossed in the 82nd minute to partially banish memories of the Wasps defeat eight days earlier, but the Saints director of rugby says they still ‘owe’ the Franklin’s Gardens faithful.
“It’s really important that we don’t get carried away now,” Mallinder told SaintsTV. “Last week [against Wasps] we didn’t perform at all and while we were better against Quins, we need to find that consistency in our game that has been missing this season.
“We lost at London Irish earlier in the season so we’re keen to put that right at home, but we also owe it to our supporters. Last time at the Gardens we didn’t give them anything to cheer about, nothing for them to get behind the team.
“We’ll be going out there looking to provide some entertainment for what will hopefully be a big crowd.”
