Manoa: Moving to Northampton was the best decision I've ever made

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

The big American gives his first feature interview in Saturday's match programme, and as well as telling what he used to do before turning professional he talks about how he ended up at Franklin's Gardens.

"My agent came to me to speak about some of the teams that had been watching me and might have been interested, but Northampton was the first of those to actually fly me out and show me the scenery," he says.

"When I first touched down and came here I saw the facilities that they've got, the stadium and the people they have here, too, the players and the staff seemed great and I liked that. I like how the club is family orientated and how everybody seems to work together and get behind each other. That's why I chose the Saints.

"I'm enjoying every minute of it. Everything's going good for me right now. It was a big change for me and my family but a good one. It was a fast life living back home and in a big area. Moving out here to Northampton everything seems a lot slower and I think that suits me a lot better."

You can read the full interview only in tomorrow's match programme, which will be available throughout stadiumMK for just £3.

Also included tomorrow are director of rugby Jim Mallinder's thoughts about the Heineken Cup, all the qualification permutations for both the Heineken Cup and Amlin Challenge Cup and some exciting new sponsorship news!

Plus win with Whittlebury Hall! Twenty lucky programme buyers will win a month-long pass to the Leisure Club at the award-winning hotel and spa near Towcester!
