Myler: Home crowd makes the difference

A victory in Round 6 of the European Champions Cup guarantees the Saints’ progression as one of the top four seeds. With nine sell-outs and only one loss at home this season, Myler is looking forward to returning home after playing two away games.

“It always makes a difference when we play at the Gardens,” Myler told the Saints official podcast. “They’re obviously always behind us and supporting us through thick and thin.

“Hopefully it’ll be a loud atmosphere getting us going, it certainly helps when they get behind us. It can be a two-way thing; we play some good stuff and give them something to cheer about and if we do so we know they’ll be with us.

“We’ve got to play near our best or at our best to beat them [Racing], but we feel that the positive thing is if we do that, then we’re more than a match for them.

“I’m very much looking forward to it.”

As for his selection in the England senior training squad, Myler is clearly thrilled for the opportunity, but keen to focus on the task at hand.

“I’m obviously delighted to be in the squad but I’m still in club mode and I’ve got to do everything I can to help my team win on Saturday," he added.

“Once that game’s out the way, hopefully with a win under our belt and going through [to the quarter finals] then I’ll get into England training mode. It’s not at the forefront of my mind right now.”
