There had been some speculation as to whether Warren Gatland would choose North in the team, but the winger’s class throughout the season has been evident, not least in the Champions Cup, where his seven tries in six games has him at the top of the scoring charts.
North lines up in a big backline that also includes Alex Cuthbert and French-based trio Leigh Halfpenny, Jamie Roberts and Jonathan Davies, who will all pose physical threats to England, not least under the Millennium Stadium’s roof.
The Six Nations opener is being shown live on the BBC, with England’s team being announced on Wednesday morning.
