Northampton Saints launch 2020/21 home strip

Northampton Saints are delighted to launch the Club’s new strip for the 2020/21 season, with Travis Perkins returning to the front of the jersey to celebrate the 20th year of our partnership.

Chris Boyd’s side will run out at Franklin’s Gardens in the kit – which is produced by elite partner Macron for the fifth straight season – from the beginning of the 2020/21 campaign, set to begin in mid-November.

The strip is available to purchase now however, and merges the classic Black, Green and Gold hoops beloved by the Club’s supporters within a modern and fresh design from Macron, an international leader in sport apparel and teamwear.

Saints’ relationship with Travis Perkins is one of the longest-running continuous sponsorship partnerships in professional sport, and the news of TP’s return to the front of the jersey kickstarts a year of celebrations to mark the 20-year anniversary.

The move follows a successful three-year run on the shirt for TP’s sister brand, Toolstation, who continue to be an integral part of the partnership – with Toolstation supporting Saints’ digital and social media presence, while also appearing on the players’ editions of the Club’s new range of training and travel wear for 2020/21.

“Today’s announcement is the continuation of a long and successful relationship between two organisations that are based in Northampton, but have a strong national and international presence,” said the Club’s Chief Executive, Mark Darbon.

“Travis Perkins and Saints are both major pillars within our community. TP are a major employer for the people of the town, while we hope we give those same people pride and enjoyment in following our team at the very highest level of European rugby.

“Many TP employees are Season Ticket Holders at Saints too, and I hope that everyone at TP can take great satisfaction from seeing their name back on the front of such a smart new jersey. We’re excited to celebrate this special anniversary with them.”

Teimana Harrison, Club co-captain, added: “Pulling on a Black, Green and Gold jersey and running out at Franklin’s Gardens remains an ultimate honour, and every year all the players are excited to see the kit we get to wear for the new season.

“But this kit feels particularly special, and we’ve all got to earn the right to wear it now.”

The association between Travis Perkins and Northampton Saints has been a long and happy one. TP became Saints’ main sponsor in 2001, and has stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Saints through the Club’s many triumphs in that time.

While the UK’s largest builders’ merchants enjoys a national profile, Travis Perkins is based in Northampton and the Travis family has been life-long supporters of Saints, instrumental in the redevelopment of Franklin’s Gardens over a decade ago.

“This is one of the longest-standing partnerships in British sport, and we remain proud to continue our commitment to Northampton Saints, which is anchored in our distinguished heritage in Northampton and strong family values on both sides,” said Nick Roberts, CEO at Travis Perkins plc.

“What’s so great about our partnership is that it goes way beyond just having a logo on a shirt and extends to charity fundraising, and mental and physical wellbeing programmes for our colleagues.”

Alongside main partner Travis Perkins, elite partners Carlsberg, Church’s Shoes, Auto Windscreens, GRS, and WIT Fitness also feature on Saints’ 2020/21 strip.

As well as the body fit players’ cut jersey worn by Saints’ matchday squad, a standard fit supporters’ version of the kit is also available now from the Saints Store. A thick-cotton ‘traditional fit’ option of the jersey will also be available, with replica jerseys starting at £60 for adults and £40 for juniors.

The Club’s 2020/21 training kit launched last week and is also available online. Please note; the Saints Store remains closed to the public due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, but is still dispatching online orders.
