Pisi: Better basics needed at Bath

A host of chances went by the wayside at the Gardens and while two tries were eventually enough for a slender 15-9 win, the Samoan knows a similar showing won’t be good enough as second host first in the Aviva Premiership.

“We created a lot of chances against Irish but couldn’t quite finish off those moves,” Pisi told the Saints podcast. “A lot of it was simple catch and pass errors, so all this week we’ve been working on going back to the basics. Hopefully it’ll show this weekend.

“They’ve got some world class players in their backline and also in the forwards. There are some big boys but also boys who can ball play. They like to play attacking rugby, very similar to us and the Rec is a tough place to go – a lot like when they come here.

“We’ve got to try and get on top of them early and keep the crowd out of it.”

The game is being shown live on BT Sport, with kick off at 3:15pm, while you can also follow the action as it happens at www.saintslive.co.uk
