Pisi excited for USA team mates

The American duo played in both the home and away legs of the Eagles’ play-off with Uruguay, with Manoa scoring a try in Montevideo.

Tied at 27-all after the first leg, the USA ran away with the tie during the second half of the return match in Atlanta last Saturday, and their 32-13 win put the Eagles into a World Cup pool that includes South Africa, Scotland and Samoa.

Pisi has been a regular in the Samoan line-up for a number of years, and the 27-year-old says that it will be an intriguing match-up when the two teams meet in Brighton next year.

“It’s going to be very interesting,” he says in this week’s Saints podcast. “Already I’ve told Samu Manoa I don’t want him running down my channel! There have been some little digs already in the changing room, but it will be exciting to play them.

“We want to play hard for our countries, but when you’re in the game, like at the bottom of the ruck, there’s always time for a friendly dig at each other!”
