Ribbans called into England squad ahead of Six Nations

Northampton Saints lock David Ribbans has been added to Steve Borthwick’s England squad ahead of the upcoming Guinness Six Nations campaign kicking off next month.

The 27-year-old second row earned three international caps during the Autumn and will join up with the side in camp later today in place of injured Saints teammate Courtney Lawes – who has withdrawn from camp due to a calf injury sustained in Northampton’s recent match against Stade Rochelais.

Ribbans joins fellow Saints Tommy Freeman, Lewis Ludlam, Alex Mitchell and Fin Smith in the squad ahead of England’s first clash of the Championship, which sees them face Scotland at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 4 February.
