Coming off the back of their first loss in the Aviva Premiership in four rounds with last weekend’s tight loss at Bath, Saints travel to Newcastle Falcons this weekend hoping to reinstate their winning ways.
Newcastle have only come away from the last four rounds of the Aviva Premiership with one win, that coming in their most recent home game in the competition on 6th January, and have failed to win back-to-back matches at Kingston Park in the tournament for twelve months.
Of their seven away games in this season’s Aviva Premiership campaign, Saints have picked up three wins on the road the most recent coming in the form of their one-point win at Gloucester on New Year’s Day.
Though Newcastle, who sit in eighth place in the table behind Saints in seventh, have won their last two matches against Saints in the Aviva Premiership, they have not achieved a Premiership Rugby double over Northampton since 2008/09, the men in black, green and gold coming out on top in 31 of the 46 meetings between the two sides so far since 1989.
Aviva Premiership Rugby returns to Franklin's Gardens for the first time since January 7th next weekend as Saints play host to Worcester Warriors on Saturday, February 25th. Tickets for that game are limited but still available HERE.
