SAINTS 33 WORCESTER 27 Match-winner Waller hails young Saints

Saints once again came from behind to head in to the new season with a 100% pre season record, and Ethan Waller believes that the younger players within the squad showed excellent character against the Warriors.

Trailing 7-27 heading into the final quarter at Franklin’s Gardens, four tries in 17 minutes saw the hosts roar from behind to win, a scoring sequence started and finished by Waller himself.

“We had a really tight game against Wasps last week, a run out against Sarries, and now coming back again in a game like this was a big test of character, especially for the young lads coming off the bench,” the two-try prop told SaintsTV.

“It’s a pre-season game but the intensity was still there. We never go into a game to lose so to be able to snatch it back after a bit of a deficit is brilliant.

“Our fitness told towards the end there, and we were able to keep that good pace going until the end. We showed what we’re about today.”

The Saints are next in home action when the Aviva Premiership heads for stadiummk once more for the visit of Newcastle Falcons. Over 15,000 from the Saints Nation have booked their place already and you can follow suite by CLICKING HERE
