Northampton Saints has today announced that the team will face Newport Gwent Dragons, Nottingham and Ulster in three home pre-season friendly fixtures before the 2017/18 season gets underway.
The Saints’ action begins on Saturday, August 12th, with Newport-Gwent Dragons visiting Franklin’s Gardens for the first time since 2014. The following Thursday, August 17th, will also see another game at the Gardens, with Greene IPA Championship side Nottingham coming to town.
Finally, Saints return home as Irish powerhouse province Ulster visit the Gardens on Friday, August 25th.
Director of rugby Jim Mallinder says that coming up against challenging opposition is important ahead of the start of the Premiership and European campaigns.
“We’re really looking forward to playing strong teams in August, which will provide us with a great springboard for the start of the Premiership campaign,” he commented.
“The games will give us an opportunity to take our pre-season training to the next level as well as give the squad plenty of game time before the season gets started.”
All three home games are included in the 2017/18 Season Ticket package, with general sale ticket prices to be announced in due course. For more details about Season Tickets head to www.northamptonsaints.co.uk/SeasonTickets
