Saints duo to make England U20s debuts

Toby Thame and Craig Wright are set to make their first appearances for England at Under-20 level on Saturday, with the Northampton Saints duo both named in Mark Mapletoft’s matchday 23.

Centre Thame will earn his first cap against Georgia as the 19-year-old start first game of the two-match tour in Tbilisi, while Wright is primed to make his first U20 appearance from the bench as he is named at replacement hooker.

The match at Avchala Stadium kicks off at 4pm BST (7pm local time) and will be streamed on the Georgian Rugby Facebook page.

Head coach Mapletoft said: “We’ve selected a side for our first match against Georgia U20 which will give us a chance to try out new on-pitch combinations and also to see players who didn’t play big minutes during the Under-20 Six Nations campaign.

“We expect the locals to come out hard, backed by a vocal crowd. We can’t wait for the experience.”
