Saints’ internationals return for Saracens clash at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Northampton Saints will break new ground this weekend as they take to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, facing Saracens on Saturday 28 March (kick-off: 6pm).

The men in Black, Green and Gold sit top of the Gallagher PREM table after 11 rounds – having won their last five clashes in the competition – and face sixth-place Saracens in London.

Northampton left victorious when the sides clashed earlier in the league this term, running out 43-31 winners at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens back in Round 5 thanks to a four-try haul from Tommy Freeman.

Freeman is one of six internationals coming back into Saints’ line-up for the clash at Tottenham after featuring throughout the Six Nations – he starts on the wing alongside James Ramm, while George Furbank captains the side from fullback against Saracens.

Saints name an unchanged centre partnership, with both Rory Hutchinson and Tom Litchfield staying on in the midfield in Round 12, while in-form scrum-half Archie McParland is joined by England’s Fin Smith in the half-back berths as the fly-half makes his return from international duty.

Curtis Langdon marks the only change to Saints’ front row, with the hooker starting for the first time this term as he joins props Emmanuel Iyogun and Luke Green there.

Behind them, Tom Lockett shifts into the second row after featuring at flanker in last weekend’s victory over Newcastle Red Bulls. Lockett partners Ed Prowse in the second row for Saints, with the latter making his fifth league start this term.

No.8 Henry Pollock features in Black, Green and Gold for the first time since January after making his first England start during the Six Nations, while Josh Kemeny makes his return from a concussion to join Tom Pearson in the back row this weekend at Tottenham.

Chunya Munga is set to bring up a half century of Saints’ appearances should he enter the action from the bench against Saracens, with Northampton opting for a six-two split amongst their replacements that sees Danilo Fischetti, Trevor Davison and Fraser Dingwall also return to club action after impressing on the international stage.
