Northampton Saints can today confirm that the Club’s preseason match against Cornish Pirates, originally scheduled for Friday 4 September, has been cancelled.
The men in Black, Green and Gold were due at Mennaye Field to take on the Championship outfit as part of their preparations for the 2020/21 Gallagher Premiership season.
However, with 2019/20 fixtures moved back to allow clubs to complete the Coronavirus-disrupted league campaign, the date clashes with Saints’ Premiership run-in.
Saints and Pirates are optimistic the friendly could be rearranged for a later date, ahead of the 2021/22 season.
