Saints Study Centre celebrate summer term

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

Thursday July 10th saw the end of the Summer Term ‘Playing For Success’ sessions, which we celebrated with the children, staff and parents from Abington Vale, Headlands, Weston Favell, St.James, Earl Spencer, St.Gregory’s, Standen’s Barn and Spring Lane Primary Schools along with Thomas Becket R.C. Secondary School! Over 400 people were at this event!

Special guests for the evening of celebration were Kevin Buckby, the Saints kit manager, Bernie and Edgar Mobbs, the great nephew of the legendary Saints player of the same name who had formed the Sportsman’s Regiment during WW1.

Jim Mallinder, the Saints director of rugby, had signed all the children’s certificates and with Edgar Mobbs signing as well on the night, the children are in possession of a unique set of signatures on their certificates! A big thankyou must also go to the Saints players who had also kindly signed the children’s certificates. The children also received a Saints T-shirt and medal.

The Saints' Aviva Premiership and Amlin Challenge Cup trophies were also on show for the parents, children and guests to have their photographs taken alongside - a great thrill for all for all concerned!

A big thank you to our partner schools and everyone who has been involved to make this Playing For Success term such a wonderful experience for the children and for a fantastic presentation evening. We look forward to seeing you all next year!
