Saints Study Centre gets Mayoral approval

The youngsters were at Franklin's Gardens for a healthy eating learning day and after sitting down to hear all about the benefits of a balanced diet, the Mayor was full of praise for the on-going work of the Saints Study Centre and official partner NETGEAR.

"My daughter who is now 23 actually came here some years ago," the Mayor revealed. "Things have changed a lot since we were first here around 12 or 13 years ago and some of the facilities and technology they have now is very impressive.

"It is a totally different atmosphere here and it is fun for the children. I think that is vital if you want the children to develop - getting them out of school and into different environments - and the Saints Study Centre quite clearly does that."

With budget cuts seeing the Saints Study Centre lose council funding at the start of the season, Saints technology partner NETGEAR stepped in and helped keep the Study Centre open, something which drew further praise from the Mayor.

"It's absolutely fantastic that the Saints have taken on the Study Centre," he added. "We know the Saints are a major part of Northampton town and clearly this is a continuation of that. They do a huge amount of work in the community so all credit to them for the work they are doing."
