BBOB RFC in Northampton once again hosts the tournament, which will run on the five Mondays in July.
A minimal contact sport, touch rugby is the perfect way for men and women alike to get involved in the game you love without having to take tackles akin to those dished out by Courtney Lawes or Samu Manoa!
With the weather perking up in recent weeks as well, it looks as though summer is on the way (knock on wood!) and the Saints Summer Touch League is a superb way to spend your Monday nights socially with your friends or colleagues and meeting new people.
All skill levels are welcome, too, with teams ranked in an opening seeding tournament in week one as well as by previous experience and records - so whether you are playing to get into shape or to win the league, there will be a level for everyone!
Squad size is unlimited throughout the tournament, though it is recommended they contain between 8-12 members for the six-a-side format. Once leagues are set, the tournament will run in a round robin format under the watchful eye of Saints staff.
This yearâ00s tournament will be managed by HITZ Project Officer Matt Goode, with the day-to-day running providing an important part of the continuing development of the youngsters on the HITZ Northampton programme, which gives 16-to-19-year-olds not in education or employment an opportunity to develop skills which can help them contribute to society.
The cost to enter a team is £150, which equates to around £5 per player, per week for a squad of 10. As well as entry into the Saints Summer Touch League, all teams will receive an allocation of tickets for the Northampton leg of the 2013 JP Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby Sevens Series, being held at Franklinâ00s Gardens on Friday, August 2nd.
