Northampton Saints will play Racing 92 and Ulster in Pool A of the 2021/22 Heineken Champions Cup following today’s draw in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The men in Black, Green and Gold will lock horns with French giants Racing for the first time since 2015 – but it will be a first-ever visit to the infamous La Défense Arena for Chris Boyd’s side.
And a rematch of last season’s Challenge Cup quarter-final against Ulster awaits for Northampton, with Saints last travelling to Belfast for a competitive fixture back in 2012.
EPCR will now begin working on the fixture schedule – exact dates, venues, kick-off times and TV coverage will be announced in the coming weeks.
The 2021/22 Heineken Champions Cup will be played over nine weekends, with four rounds of pool stage action commencing in December.
The eight highest-ranked teams from each pool will advance to the knockout stage, which will consist of a Round of 16 on a home and away basis, quarter-finals and semi-finals, with the final in Marseille on 28 May 2022.
