Saints to welcome thousands of schoolchildren to Franklin’s Gardens

Northampton Saints is extending an invitation to schools from across Northamptonshire to watch a home fixture at Franklin’s Gardens free of charge this season, as well as the opportunity to receive a complimentary taster session from the Club’s Community rugby coaching team.

The initiative, which has been offered to over 325 schools in the region, comes off the back of the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan where England narrowly missed out on being crowned world champions to South Africa.

“With the World Cup just finished, the game of rugby has never been more popular, and we want to continue to capitalise on this,” said Connor Fleming, Head of Community for Northampton Saints.

“There’s never been a better time to watch, play or support rugby. Promoting core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship, rugby is a game for boys and girls and for all shapes and sizes.

“We’d love to welcome schools in the region to Franklin’s Gardens this season or speak to them about arranging one of our ‘Saints in Schools’ coaching sessions, so if you’re a teacher please do get in contact.”

Fixtures available to schools in Northamptonshire for these FREE experiences* are Saints' home games against Lyon (Sunday 17 November 2019), Benetton (Sunday 12 January 2019) or London Irish (Friday 24 January 2020) and the offer includes:

  • 22x junior/student tickets
  • 2x members of staff
  • Free minibus/coach parking

If you are a school teacher and would like to find out more about this offer please contact [email protected] or call 01604 599162.
