SCARLETS 7 SAINTS 24 Momentum key, says Hooley

The fly half was named LV= man of the match, kicking all three conversions and a penalty in awful conditions and is now raring to get back under the Franklin’s Garden lights for the Aviva Premiership visit of Exeter.

“As a squad, especially with the internationals away, it’s important to keep our momentum going,” Hooley told SaintsTV. “Tonight’s win is important and the boys are happy.

“In the second half we played in the right areas and having the wind at our backs certainly helped. We got our forwards into the game and kept things simple. Once they started firing we were able to get those tries that ultimately killed the game off.

“We’re also a little bit down about a performance that wasn’t quite there tonight, though. We know Exeter is going to be a tough game next week - they’ve not got too many internationals away and are in good form.

“But we’ll focus on ourselves. We’ve won two games as a group now, have a lot of confidence and as I said before, momentum is important.

“We’ll be all guns blazing.”
