England Head Coach Steve Borthwick has named seven Northampton Saints players in his matchday squad to face Scotland at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on Saturday 14 February (kick-off 4.40pm).
Following last weekend’s 48-7 victory over Wales at Allianz Stadium, which saw six Saints players feature, Fin Smith has been added to Borthwick’s 23-man squad.
It’s an all-Saints midfield once more of Fraser Dingwall and Tommy Freeman, with Alex Mitchell starting at scrum-half.
The Saints contingent makes up half of the England bench, with Smith coming into the 23 shirt alongside Trevor Davison, Alex Coles and Henry Pollock, who are also named amongst the replacements.
“Playing Scotland at Murrayfield is always a fantastic occasion and a challenge we are relishing,” said Borthwick.
“We made a pleasing start to the Championship, but we understand that we must continue to raise our standards. The squad has trained with focus and determination this week, and we’re excited for the opportunity to test ourselves again on Saturday.”
