Six Lightning stars named in Red Roses autumn squad

England Women head coach Simon Middleton has named his training squad ahead of the 2021 autumn internationals, with six players from the joint Northampton Saints / Loughborough Lightning side named in the 40-player extended squad.

Middleton's initial group – made up of a mixture of experience and youth – sees seasoned Lightning internationals Sarah Hunter and Lark Davies link up with the Red Roses once again, with Detysha Harper, Cath O’Donnell and Helena Rowland also named within the squad.

And back rower Sadia Kabeya is among 11 uncapped players named within the squad, with the Lightning forward hoping to make her international debut when the England fixtures get underway on 31 October.

The group assemble for the first of two preparation camps at Bisham Abbey next week (11-14 October) with the second camp taking place (18-21 October) before coming together to begin their Autumn International campaign on Tuesday 26 October.

After the side head to Sandy Park to take on New Zealand in the opening fixture, Red Roses will make their first appearance at cinch Stadium at Franklin's Gardens since 2001 in their second meeting with the Black Ferns on Sunday 7 November (kick-off: 2.45pm) – with tickets for the clash on sale from £15 adult / £5 junior HERE now.

England then return to Twickenham Stoop to host third-ranked in the world Canada (Sunday 14 November, kick-off 2.30pm), before their final Test against USA at Sixways (Sunday 21 November, kick-off 2.45pm).

All fixtures will be broadcast live on BBC Two.
