Sleightholme and Painter return for Premiership Rugby Shield Semi-Final

Northampton Wanderers have made six changes to their line-up as they prepare to take on Saracens in the Premiership Rugby Shield semi-final on Monday.

Heading into their fourth consecutive appearance in the competition’s knock-out rounds following a convincing 38-28 win over Leicester Tigers last time out, it’s now all-or-nothing for Wanderers as they head to Allianz Park this Monday looking to add a third trophy to their tally in as many years.

And Ollie Sleightholme and Ehren Painter both make their returns from injury to join the starting line-up for Wandies, with James Grayson captaining the side from fly-half for the fourth straight game.

Charlie Davies also returns to the starting XV, with coaches Mark Hopley and Simon Sinclair shuffling their pack once again to see Will Davis join Painter in the front row and soon-to-be Saint Tui Uru start in the number eight shirt.

Bedford Blues’ Will Carrick-Smith completes the sextet of changes to Wanderers’ side as he makes a guest appearance in Black, Green and Gold to complete the tight five.
