Three Saints included in England U18s training camp

Aiden Reid, Sonny Goode and Charlie Tamani have been named in Jonathan Pendlebury’s 40-player England U18s squad for a training camp at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre, with Saints U18s Head Coach Charlie Reed also joining as attack coach.

The four-day meeting in Berkshire commences today, supporting players’ development in preparation for the 2026 U18 Six Nations Festival this April.

Pendlebury is joined by pathway scrum coach Nathan Catt and consultant kicking and attack coach Alan Kingsley this week. Northampton Saints’ Academy head coach Reed also joins the staff in an attack coaching role ahead of March’s France fixture.

Reed said: “It’s always an honour to do anything with England, to have the opportunity to coach your country within the pathway, so I’m very much looking forward to getting stuck in.

“It’s a good opportunity to work with various players across the country and get to know them and see what kind of impact and support I can have.

“A big thank you to England Rugby and Jonathan Pendlebury for giving me the opportunity, and also a massive thanks to Mark Hopley and Northampton Saints for continuing to support my development and grow my coaching skillset. This is an excellent opportunity to do that.”

England U18 Men will return to camp at Bisham Abbey on Wednesday, 11th March, ahead of a preparation fixture against France at Chinnor RFC on Saturday, 14th March (14:00 GMT). Further information on future England U18 Men’s fixtures, including the 2026 U18 Six Nations Festival, will be communicated in due course.

“As we name this week’s squad, it’s reward and recognition for recent performances and current potential we see. There is hope and expectation for our players to come in and explore in our environment, taking responsibility for their future development and support for each other,” Jonathan Pendlebury said.

“Above all, we want the group to embrace the opportunity. There should be real enjoyment in representing England at any level – enjoyment in the work, in the competition and in the brotherhood that we look to create over the next four days. If we combine our relentlessness, ownership with support for one another whilst maximising enjoyment, we’ll give ourselves the best platform heading into France and beyond.”
