TIGERS 24 WANDERERS 49 Wandies score seven for second Derby win

The Wanderers seal their seventh consecutive bonus point win in the Premiership Rugby A League this season with a convincing win over Leicester Tigers at Loughborough University.

Securing the bonus point before the half hour mark, with Juan Pablo Estelles, Nafi Tuitavake, Ben Nutley and Api Ratuniyarawa all crossing the whitewash in the first half, the Wanderers cemented their spot at the top of the table.

With the Wanderers dominating from the off, Grayson had sent over two penalties before the men in black, green and gold crossed twice in as many minutes. First, Hutchinson got a hand to a loose pass and raced in, offloading to Estelles for the score. Good pressure from the forwards got the side straight back in range and the ball came wide to Tuitavake for a simple finish.

The home side did send a penalty through but it was not long before the Wanderers were back on the scoresheet. Tuitavake cut a beautiful line through the Tigers' defence and got within inches before popping the ball up to Nutley for the third.

George Furbank left the field for the sin bin but that didn't stop the Wanderers progress. Ratuniyarawa spotted a gap and barrelled in from 20 metres out for the bonus point score.

Tigers took the first blood after the break through Tom Hardwick and then Harry Mahoney but the Wanderers were straight back on the attack and sent Tuitavake over for a second soon after.

Tom Emery scored with his first touch of the ball less than five minutes later and Estelles added a second to his tally just moments later.

Tigers had the final word on the game, sending Fred Tuilagi over with the final play, but the Wanderers had already done more than enough to seal their seventh consecutive bonus point win and go 18 points clear at the top of the Northern tier.
