Edoardo Todaro will start in the centres for Italy Under-20s on Wednesday (9 July, kick-off: 7.30pm BST), with the Northampton Saints back named in the matchday squad for the clash at Stadio San Michele.
The 18-year-old has featured in all three of Italy’s matches in the competition so far – most recently helping the side to a 18-16 victory over Ireland – and shifts into the centres to face Georgia in the final pool stage clash of the World Rugby U20 Championship.
Italy’s hopes of qualification for the semi-finals remain alive but Todaro‘s side must secure a win over Georgia and hope results elsewhere are also favourable if they are to progress.
Italy U20 head coach, Roberto Santamaria, said: “Georgia is a team that has been doing well for several years now, especially at U20 level. We know that their pack is very organized and physical: in that fundamental there will be an important challenge for us.
“We are facing a team that has scored three tries against New Zealand and four against Ireland: a team that has important weapons, which will put us in a position to limit the opportunities that we will offer them and will require excellent management of discipline.”
