Travel advisory for Saints v Castres

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

Saints supporters are advised to allow additional time to get to and from Franklin’s Gardens for Saturday’s European Rugby Champions Cup clash with Castres (KO 1pm).

Extensive roadworks are in place on Weedon Road and Harlestone Road close to Franklin’s Gardens, with some closures and restricted access in place which have the potential to cause delays on the approaches.

Then after the game the traffic leaving Franklin’s Gardens towards Upton Way may be subject to delay due to cars and supporters arriving at Sixfields for Northampton Town’s League One game against Scunthorpe. The Saints’ usual traffic management will be in place to turn Edgar Mobbs Way into a one-way dual carriageway between Franklin’s Gardens and Sixfields, but will merge into one lane just before the Cobblers’ car parks.

The Saints’ official car parks open on Edgar Mobbs Way at 10:30am with the Village, bars and stadium opening at 11am. Should supporters choose not to use the official club car parks then they are strongly urged to park their vehicles with due care for the needs of local residents and businesses.

A number of public transport options are available, including:

- Half-price match day travel on London Midland trains for Season Ticket Holders. Just show your Season Card at the manned ticket offices at any station between Leighton Buzzard and Rugby. Head to londonmidland.com for timetable information

- Northampton Borough Council’s town centre car parks are free on Saturdays, and a number of buses run between the town centre and Franklin’s Gardens. CLICK HERE for more information

There is a range of post-match entertainment at Franklin’s Gardens after the final whistle, including live music in the Rodber Suite and the day’s other Champions Cup games on the TVs.
