Tuala fired up for London Irish clash

Returning to Franklin's Gardens looking to continue their unbeaten run at home in 2018, Ahsee Tuala says Saints are fired up to face London Irish in the Aviva Premiership this Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

After a frustrating defeat – despite a solid opening quarter at Bath last weekend – Saints must get the win on Saturday if they are to fulfil their hopes of climbing the table.

And Tuala insists that while the loss was a tough one for the side, Saints are confident they can continue to build their momentum at home this weekend.

“It was obviously tough to take a loss like that when we had ambitions to win on the road, but I think the good thing about this league is that you get the opportunity to redeem ourselves straight away,” he said.

“The first 20 minutes showed what we were trying to do and I think we just need to re-focus and continue to build pressure during the match to play an 80-miunte game.

“Dylan and some of the other senior boys have implemented a sort of ‘Castle’ mentality for when we play at home. And every time we play at Franklin’s Gardens we want to add another brick to our Castle so we can just build and build.”

Looking ahead to London Irish, Tuala revealed that while the Exiles come to town at the bottom of the Aviva Premiership pile, Saints are fully aware of the threat they can pose.

He added: “They're going to be going for it. When we played them away earlier this season they were just trying to find their feet, but watching their last couple of games they've been doing pretty well.

“We're aware of their threats, we've done our homework and we're looking forward to it.”
