Saints' Under-18s head to Bedford School for their final game of the season against Wasps, but despite the challenge facing them skipper Joe Wallace is adamant his side can finish their campaign with a flourish.
Wasps will be looking to secure their place in the Premiership Rugby Under-18 Academies Finals Day, and so Saints – who cannot qualify themselves after last weekend’s frustrating defeat to Sale Sharks – have a large task on their hands as they take on the second-place side on Saturday (kick-off 1pm).
But with the Under-18s at the Gardens for a training camp this half-term week, captain Wallace believes the side will benefit from their exposure to the first-team squad.
“It's brilliant being here because it gives us a great experience,” Wallace said.
“We get to train with the Wanderers and the first team, and having that contact with the lads and the coaches as well helps us to progress.”
Leading the side out for the final time this season on Saturday, Wallace said the experience has been an educational one.
He said: “It's been brilliant to captain the side. It's been a great learning experience more than anything, and I'm honoured to have done it.”
And when asked if Saints would end the season on a high, the flanker simply added: “We'll get the win.”
