Under-18s team named for Sale trip

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

The Saints youngsters were pipped by Gloucester in their opening match and will be looking to put things right in the trip to Haywood Road.

This is the first Premiership Rugby Academies League, and although Senior Academy wing Alex Wootton - who scored the Saints' first Academies League try in the Gloucester game - isn't involved in tomorrow's squad he says that the tournament is good for both the three Under-19 players who can be involved and the youngsters who are coming through.

"As one of the three older players you have to take the responsibility, both in terms of things like decision making but also setting the standards for the younger lads, like in the warm-ups," he comments.

"You can tell that the youngsters are good players and are hungry for it. There are some good players coming through, like Howard Packman and Sam Olver, and I do feel under a bit of pressure.

"But that's a good thing because it makes me better at the end of the day. That's the sort of thing we want."

Tomorrow's game is being played at Haywood Road (directions can be found by CLICKING HERE) with regular score updates being posted on the club's official Twitter feed.
