Northampton Saints have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from the local community following the start of our appeal for Ukrainian Refugees.
The Club has been collecting donations from members of the public for Ukrainian refugees who are arriving in Western Europe and in urgent need of support.
Since the appeal began on Wednesday morning, 12 truckloads of sleeping bags, first-aid kits, clothing, blankets, towels, personal hygiene products, nappies and more have been generously donated at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens, before being organised and packed by Saints Foundation volunteers and students.
The Club would like to thank Travis Perkins for supplying trucks to transport donations, as well as Bluefish and Smurfit Kappa for providing first-class packaging, boxes, and tape.
The window for donations has now closed and the Club is UNABLE TO ACCEPT ANY MORE, with no further space available on the transport to Ukraine – however Saints supporters can still help by donating to the Red Cross appeal by texting* REDCROSS or REDCROSS NO to 70141 to give £10.
The British Red Cross are also accepting canned food, hygiene items, clothing and first-aid kits, but please check first that your local store is accepting physical donations.
The Ukraine Crisis Appeal will support people in areas currently affected and those potentially affected in the future by the crisis. In the unlikely event that we raise more money than can be reasonably and efficiently spent, any surplus funds will be used to help us prepare for and respond to other humanitarian disasters anywhere in the world. * Texts cost £10 plus 1 standard message. Text REDCROSS to consent to future telephone & SMS marketing from British Red Cross. Text REDCROSS NO to give without consenting. The British Red Cross will receive 100%. UK numbers only. You must be 16+. For full T&Cs click here
