VOTE NOW

Voting for the DPD Player of the Month is now open, with Northampton Saints Supporters able to decide who they believe made the biggest contribution on the pitch through October.

The competition will remain open until Wednesday 11 November, when the winning player will be announced by Northampton Saints and DPD.

Through the new season, DPD will be offering one lucky supporter who votes for the winning player the chance to win a Saints shirt signed by the whole 26/27 squad – with the winner selected at random after the voting closes.

Saints enjoyed a bumper month of matches in October, winning three out of their five outings in both the Gallagher PREM and Investec Champions Cup as they remain undefeated at DPD Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens.

The men in Black, Green and Gold started the month with a frustrating 41-26 loss at Bristol Bears but bounced back in some style, scoring 11 tries at DPD Stadium as they downed Bath Rugby 71-48.

Saints then headed into the Champions Cup competition, facing Cardiff Rugby in Northampton for the first time since 2010. Back then, in a match Director of Rugby Phil Dowson played in, Saints came out on the right side of the 23-15 scoreline and Dowson’s men continued in the same fashion in 2026 – running out 28-12 winners in Round 1.

On the return to the PREM, Northampton suffered another loss (28-7) on the road at East Midlands rivals Leicester Tigers but, once again, Saints bounced back strongly and defeated the then league-leaders Gloucester Rugby when an unanswered 28 points sealed them a 28-14 win.

With those clashes in mind, Saints’ coaches have selected four nominees for the monthly award: Josh Kemeny, Cleopas Kundiona, Curtis Langdon and James Pater.

Kemeny continued his strong form in Saints’ back row into the second month of the season, featuring in all five outings and scoring two of Northampton’s 24 tries last month, while also making some 98 metres and 55 tackles.

Hooker Langdon also played a part in the scoring of those tries – when he helped Saints’ maul power over for their second score against Gloucester. The 29-year-old was impressive on both sides of the ball in his five outings last month, making 58 metres from 34 carries and completing a total of 46 tackles in October.

Sticking in the front row, Kundiona’s performances at tighthead prop continued to impress. His strength in the scrum helped Saints to keep a 100% record on their own ball across three of their outings, while he also carried 17 times and made a whopping 55 tackles in October.

Our final nominee of the month, Pater, secured his spot in England A’s squad after another stellar month in Black, Green and Gold – where he scored a try apiece against Bath, Cardiff and Leicester and continued to show his attacking prowess as he made 207 metres with ball in hand from just 29 carries.
