Warriors put to the sword by 10-try Wanderers

Senior and Academy players shared the spoils as they registered 10 tries - Scott Armstrong and Tom Collins grabbing a brace apiece from the wing.

After a promising early foray from Noah Cato, the forwards took over, mauling Alex Waller over from a five metre lineout on four minutes. Ryan Lamb converted but it wasn't long before Cato was involved again, the full back's arcing line making the most of some slick Wanderers play and releasing Collins into the corner.

This time Lamb's extras went astray but the 10 was back on the mark with a penalty courtesy of the forwards before the backs produced another beauty. Just outside his own 22, Martin Roberts took a quick tap and Tom Stephenson surged through on the end of a fine Lamb pass. The Academy centre had Armstrong in support and the winger was in unstoppable mood from 30 metres out.

Much of the Wanderers joy was coming from kicking the corners and when another overlap was created Danny Herriott chose to go alone, crashing over and managing to ground the ball.

Worcester would have a say of their own, Stephan Shillingford going over after a quick tap but the Wanderers were in once more on the stroke of half-time, Lamb taking defenders out of the game and freeing Tom May on the left.

Having taken time to settle into the second half the Wanderers struck with three more tries in a devastating five minute period. Alex Woolford sparked the first for Armstrong, who like Cato moments later was thankful for Stephenson's awareness and assist. Half back replacements Ryan Glynn and Will Hooley combined in between for Collins' second and the latter converted twice to take his side through the 50-point mark.

The hosts' efforts couldn't be faltered and as the hour passed, they got their reward, full back Ben Howard the try-scorer after another quick penalty paid dividends.

It seemed to draw a response out of the Wanderers though and having kept a move alive rescuing a low pass, Hooley again showed good hands to juggle and go in on the left, converting his own score. He slotted his last effort of the night as well, adding the extras to Ross McMillan's burrowing effort that brought an end to a satisfying evening for the Wanderers.
