REPORTS TO: Head of Operations

PURPOSE:

Northampton Saints are delighted to be offering the opportunity for an individual with a passion for sustainability to join our team for a one-year industrial placement. The individual will support the shaping of the Northampton Saints Sustainability Strategy through the collation of high-quality research into opportunities to reduce our environmental impact, and work closely with stakeholders across the business to bring it to life.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct, analyse and present research into areas of opportunity with regards to sustainability at Northampton Saints
  • Work with multiple internal stakeholders to develop an aspirational, compelling and achievable Sustainability Strategy for Northampton Saints
  • Assist with the creation of roadmaps to achieve our sustainability vision and support its implementation
  • Support the delivery of dedicated projects in connection with Sustainability & Environment requirements and regulations
  • Research project opportunities, prepare and present documentation detailing costs, timelines, risks and opportunities.
  • Communicate our sustainability & environment ambitions and achievements internally and provide accurate information to relevant stakeholders for external communications
  • Work to create greater awareness and engagement with our internal teams around sustainability and environment to drive increased focus across the business
  • Assist with the development of a KPI reporting framework to track our progress towards our sustainability goals, and put in place a process for capturing and reporting relevant data
  • Assist with the delivery of any match and event day sustainability initiatives, including leading on the delivery of the annual Green Game.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Student undertaking an undergraduate degree that focuses on environment/sustainability with a placement year in industry
  • Highly motivated with a keen interest in environmental and sustainability strategies in a sporting context
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Some knowledge of commercial business
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
  • IT literate with ability to utilise Excel to collate, organise and present data
