PURPOSE: 

The Night Security Guard is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and integrity of the site during overnight hours. Working independently, the postholder will monitor CCTV systems, ensure the premises remain secure, respond appropriately to incidents, and prepare for daytime operations at the end of their shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Ensure the site is secured appropriately overnight
• Monitor CCTV throughout the shift.
• Identify suspicious activity, security breaches, or safety concerns.
• Assess incidents and determine the appropriate level of escalation.
• Ensure entrances, access routes, and operational areas are ready for staff arrival.
• Work safely while operating alone overnight

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Strong observation and situational awareness skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional during incidents.
• Basic IT skills for CCTV monitoring and incident reporting.

DESIRABLE (BUT NOT ESSENTIAL) QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid SIA Security Guard or Door Supervisor licence.
• First Aid certification.
• Experience using CCTV monitoring systems.

WORKING HOURS: 

• Overnight shifts: 6:00pm – 6:00am, Sunday and Monday nights.
• Additional shifts may be available from time to time.
• Holiday working may be required.
