Leinster vs Northampton Saints

Free kick Saints at the scrum and they go quickly.

Leinster look to maul but Saints defend hard and earn the scrum there.

Leinster push forwards and eventually make it over Saints' 22. Saints get a hand to the ball but Leinster had the advantage coming and Byrne sends this one to the corner.

Leinster look to chip through off the back of the scrum but Saints are found offside and Leinster have the penalty. Byrne sends it to touch for a lineout just outside Saints' 22. 

Not straight at the lineout from Saints and Leinster have the scrum. 

Dingwall is the one to get Saints' over halfway and the away side continue to push before earning a penalty for a late hit. Hutchinson sends the ball into touch for a lineout just outside Leinster's 22. 

Moon claims the lineout and Dingwall races forwards off the back of it. Saints continue to push, with Francis almost making it up to halfway. 

Good scrum from Saints and they earn a penalty at the next ruck too. Furbank sends it to touch but it hangs in the air and Saints' lineout will be on the halfway line.

Saints the send the ball high and Leinster return but the kick is too long and Saints will have the scrum. 

James returns to the field for Taylor as we restart. 

Good defender from Saints at the restart and Byrne is forced to clear. Furbank is there and Saints push forwards once again.

Furbank sends the ball high again and Leinster gather. Harrison gets over the ball but is penalised for his body position. The TMO has also intervened and we're checking a clear out from Wood but referee Pierre Broussett is happy and Byrne lines up for the posts. 

Saints fire from deep and have the advantage coming as Leinster knock on too. Furbank sends it high and Dingwall regathers. Saints push again.

Scrappy at the lineout from Saints though and Leinster gather the loose ball before clearing long. Naiyaravoro is there and he runs it back at the hosts.

Naiyaravoro charges up the left wing off the back of the scrum and Saints come forwards hard. They earn a penalty at the breakdown too and Furbank sends it into the corner. 

Coles replaces Isiekwe and Taylor replaces James as we set the scrum. 

Leinster knock the ball forwards and though Hutchinson hacks through to space, there's no advantage for Saints and we come back for the scrum. 

The ball comes loose and Leinster hack it through into space. Adendorff manages to scramble back and it's a 22 drop for Saints. 

Hutchinson is there and Saints earn penalty as Leinster are penalised for a high tackle. James takes it quickly and Saints push up again.

McGrath boxes clear from the restart and Saints return the ball. Saints pressure well but Leinster manage to retain it and McGrath clears again.

Ratuniyarawa makes way for Harrison as we restart here.

Another chip over the top from Leinster but it goes dead again and we come back for the penalty advantage. It's in front of the posts and Byrne points to the posts with this one.

Franks, Francis and Proctor have entered the field here at the RDS, with Hill, Olowofela and Naiyaravoro making way.

Saints steal the lineout and James clears well. Leinster collect and have the advantage coming again too as they push back towards Saints' 22. 

Bryne chips through to Kearney to chase but Olowofela gets there first and dots down over the line. We come back for the penalty advantage and Byrne sends it into the corner. 

Leinster look to maul from the lineout and manage to make some ground before it comes to ground. They have the advantage coming at they work up to the five metre line now.

Saints push hard but Leinster eventually manage to get over the ball and earn the penalty. Byrne sends it to touch. 

Dingwall can't get to the ball first but Leinster knock on just after and Saints play on with the advantage. They're up to the 22 now and still pushing.

James boxes high and Leinster manage to keep a hold of the slippy ball this time. Gibson-Park sends it high too and James is there. Saints push on before Collins attempt a cross field kick.

Furbank sends the ball into space  but Leinster just get there first. Byrne eventually clears but Furbank collects and Saints attack once more. 

Isiekwe claims the lineout and Saints push on.

Scrappy at the lineout again as the wet ball bobbles free but Saints have the advantage as Leinster knock on. Saints keep pushing and earn a penalty at the breakdown too. Furbank sends the ball into touch for a lineout inside Leinster's half. 

Haywood returns to Saints' side as he replaces Matavesi.

Penalty Leinster at the scrum and Byrne sends it into touch for a Leinster lineout just inside Saints' half.

Saints push but Leinster manage to hold Hutchinson up and earn the scrum. 

Naiyaravoro charges up off the back of the scrum and Saints push towards Leinster's 22 now.

Scrappy at the lineout but Leinster are deemed to have knocked the ball on. Scrum Saints.

Waller is replaced by Van Wyk as we set the lineout.

Penalty Saints at the scrum! And Furbank sends the ball into touch for a lineout deep in Leinster's half. 

James boxes clear from the base of the ruck well and Leinster struggle under the high ball, with Henshaw knocking the slippy ball on. Scrum Saints.

The wind carried Hutchinson's conversion just wide but Saints take the restart well and begin to push once more.

James looks to box forwards clear from the restart but Saints are pinged for a knock on and Leinster have the scrum on Saints' 22. 

Byrne gets us restarted here in Dublin.

Leinster go quickly with the penalty and push once again.

Time's nearly up for the first half as we set the lineout and Leinster look to maul forwards but Saints hold them well. Byrne charges forwards though as Leinster come to the midfield, they home side get over the whitewash but are held up. We come back for a penalty in the build up though.

Saints defend hard again here and slow Leinster's progress well but are penalised at the ruck and Byrne sends the ball into there corner.

Scrappy again from Leinster off the back of the lineout and Saints defend well to hold them back there. Leinster keep coming though and eventually work their way up to the halfway line. 

Van der Flier charges through Saints line from the restart but as Leinster make it into Saints' 22 they knock the ball on. Saints play on and Hutchinson clears deep into touch. Lineout Leinster back in their own half. 

Naiyaravoro claims the restart and pushes out of Saints' 22 before he's taken down. James boxes clear from there and Leinster collect.

Scrappy at the lineout from Leinster too and Wood races forwards to force the home side to ground the ball over the try line. Scrum Saints on the five metre line.

The Leinster scrum-half doesn't find touch though and Saints push once again. Furbank spots some space out right and hacks the ball through for Dingwall but it bobbles into touch before the Saints centre can get there.

Moon claims the lineout but Naiyaravoro isn't able to get to the ball off the back of it. Leinster collect the ball and though Saints hold them back on their five metre line, Gibson-Park clears.

The referee spots a forward pass as Leinster enter Saints' 22 but the TMO calls things back for a tackle without the ball against Saints and Byrne points for the posts.

Wood claims the lineout well and Naiyaravoro crashes up off the back of it. James spots some space in behind and chips it over the top. Kelleher returns and Saints push again on the halfway line.

Saints earn a penalty at the restart too and Furbank sends it to touch for a lineout well inside Leinster territory.

Saints get the ball safely out the back of the scrum and begin to push. 

Free kick Saints at the scrum as it collapses and Waller opts for the scrum option again.

Saints pin their hosts back in their own 22 though and Matavesi gets over the ball to earn Saints the penalty there. Furbank sends the ball into the corner.

Murphy gets high to claim the restart before Byrne sends the ball  skyward. Leinster get tot he ball first though and look to attack once again.

Free kick Leinster at this scrum though and Leinster take it quickly.

Saints use the lineout quickly and Furbank sends the ball down field. Leinster gather and have to fight back from their own 22.

Saints defend Leinster's maul well and the home side are forced to play. The men in Black, Green and Gold defend well though and a Leinster pass heads into touch.

Byrne sends the penalty into touch for a lineout just inside Saints' 22. 

Saints come forwards and Furbank dinks it through into space, but a chasing Dingwall is deemed to be offside and Leinster will have the penalty.

A huge hit from Dingwall lets Ratuniyarawa get over the ball off the back of the scrum though and Furbank sends it to touch for a Saints lineout near halfway.

Baird breaks through Saints line to get Leinster back on the front foot and the home side are quickly in Saints' 22. But the ball comes forwards there and it's deemed to have come off Saints hands. Scrum Leinster.
