Northampton Saints’ Alex Mitchell has been named the cinch Player of the Month for October – with the scrum-half claiming back-to-back awards for his stellar performances throughout the month.
With Saints’ seven clashes in October – including Harlequins, Wasps, Newcastle Falcons, Bath Rugby and Bristol Bears in the Gallagher Premiership as well as Saracens and Harlequins in the Premiership Rugby Cup – taken into account, it was Mitchell who came out on top of the supporter vote for the second month running after beating fellow nominees Aaron Hinkley, Lukhan Salakaia-Loto and Ollie Sleightholme.

Mitchell – who landed 37% of the supporter voting – continued his excellent run of form, adding two more tries to his tally as well as picking up the man-of-the-match award against Bristol Bears and the Premiership Player of the Week for Round 8.
Throughout the season, cinch will also be offering up a range of prizes for those who vote for the award, with one lucky supporter each month selected at random after voting closes.
This month’s winner was David Pittam, who was selected at random out of over 500 supporters who voted on the cinch Player of the Month award to win £50 worth of Saints Store vouchers.
