This week the Saints’ attention returns to the European Rugby Champions Cup, and with two pool games remaining there’s everything to play for.
Racing-92 may have put themselves in control of Pool 3 by winning their rearranged match against Glasgow on Saturday, but every point will matter in the chase for second place and a possible spot in the quarter finals.
Just one point separates the Saints (10 points) from Glasgow (9) ahead of next Sunday’s Round 5 Gardens match, but when you look across the tournament as a whole the situation becomes increasingly intriguing.
Three of the runners-up will qualify for the knockout stages, and here there is precious little to split the teams across all five pools.
Pool 2 is set to go down to the wire, with Ospreys and Exeter tied on 10 points. In Pool 1 Ulster have given themselves hope with a memorable win in Oyonnax, but still have to travel to Saracens next weekend.
Meanwhile in Pool 4 Stade Francais have 14 points, but have to visit Thomond Park where they will face a Munster outfit who will no doubt be intent on revenge after their disappointment at Stade Jean Bouin and host the currently unbeaten Leicester.
And in Pool 5 there is still all to play for, with Wasps and Toulon separated by just the one point ahead of the teams’ clash at Stade Felix Mayol.
So there’s a lot that is hinging on next Sunday’s game, and your support can count when the Saints host the Pro 12 champion Warriors at home.
