Saints prop Kieran Brookes says that England Saxons’ win over South Africa A was a “battle” that he really “enjoyed”.
The match on Friday saw the Saxons record a 32-24 victory over South Africa ‘A’ in Bloemfontein, with Brookes saying: “They brought a massive, heavy pack today.
“We just tried to combat that; they were a bit heavier than us. It was a good battle and I enjoyed it.”
Brookes also went on to say that although they secured a win on Friday, there is plenty to work on ahead of their second and final match on later this week.
“The coaches have spoken to us and they reckon we’ve got a lot of things to improve on and a lot of things we can bring to next week, so it’s just going to be five days of hard work,” said Brookes.
“Hopefully we can end the season by beating them in George on Friday.”
