Caqusau relishing oppurtunity to run out at cinch Stadium

Northampton Saints winger Amena Caqusau is looking forward to the opportunity to run out at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens this weekend against Harlequins in Round 3 of the PREM Rugby Cup.

The 21-year-old winger arrived in Northampton in the summer of 2025 from Glasgow Warriors, having featured for Scotland at age-grade level in both the Under-18s and the Under-20s, starting three times in the 2025 U20s Six Nations Championship.

He made his Saints debut in Round 2 of this year’s PREM Rugby Cup competition, coming off the bench against Saracens, and is eagerly anticipating what could be a full home debut for the Club this weekend.

“Obviously, joining from Glasgow Warriors, ever since preseason, all of the boys have made me feel really welcome,” Caqusau explained.

“The type of rugby is very different in terms of the style of play, but I’m really enjoying my time here.

“For me, the reason to move was influenced by being able to move a lot closer to my family, I’d been away for ten years from them, and also the opportunity to be at a Club like this is amazing.

“I’ve watched the PREM my whole life, and the opportunity to be here with a great group of coaching staff is really cool, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity.“

“The coaches approached me last year and said they’d seen me in the Under-20s Six Nations and kept an eye on me since.

“The depth in this squad is massive. I’m grateful to come in every day, everyone is trying to make one another better, and I learn new things every day.”

Caqusau picked up an ankle injury in the men in Green, Black and Gold’s 34-49 win at Saracens in September, which has restricted his progress since.

But after recovering in time to be involved in the upcoming PREM Rugby Cup block of fixtures, he is excited to experience the unique cinch Stadium atmosphere from out on the turf.

He said: “I rolled my ankle in the opening round, which obviously wasn’t the ideal start to my season, but luckily it wasn’t too bad an injury, and I’m looking forward to this weekend.

“I’ve always wanted to play here at cinch Stadium, so the opportunity to finally get to do it this weekend will be amazing.

“When I watched the first home game here, it was a crazy atmosphere. I wasn’t expecting it to be like that. You can really tell how the players feed off the energy from the crowd.”
