Clarification regarding Paul Diggin and Cambridge RFC

A mainstay in the Wanderers’ run to the Aviva ‘A’ League final, both Diggin and the Saints coaches have been keen for him to get more game time under his belt and he is therefore available to play for Cambridge in their National League Two game against Exmouth this weekend.

However the Saints management stresses that this arrangement is on a week-by-week basis, and any perception of anything more permanent is wide of the mark.

Diggin’s first priorities remain at Franklin’s Gardens, where he will continue to train with the rest of the Saints squad and maintain his coaching commitments with the club’s Under-18 team in the Premiership Rugby Academies League in December and January.

Nevertheless the Saints management recognises the need for Diggin to maintain his game fitness, especially with the injury that has sidelined Ben Foden and the number of big Heineken Cup and Aviva Premiership matches coming up over the next few weeks.
