Coles, Freeman and Ribbans selected for England’s Boks Test

Northampton Saints trio Alex Coles, Tommy Freeman and David Ribbans will all take on South Africa this weekend, with Head Coach Eddie Jones naming his England side for Saturday afternoon’s Test match.

The Red Rose lock horns with the Springboks at 5.30pm at Twickenham Stadium – with the match available to view around cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens for all supporters attending Northampton Saints’ fixture against Barbarian F.C. (kick-off: 3pm).

It is a first inclusion of the Autumn Nations Series for Freeman, with the 21-year-old recovering from injury to take his place on the wing, while Coles earns his third cap in the back row.

Ribbans meanwhile will be looking to make an impact off the bench against the World Champions as he did in the draw against the All Blacks last weekend.

The two sides last faced each other in November 2021, where England won a close match 27-26. England vs South Africa is live on Amazon Prime Video and talkSPORT.

Jones said: “This is our last game of the autumn and our chance to continue building on the improvements we have made throughout the matches.

“We have made steady progress from game-to-game, culminating in a pulsating draw against New Zealand. Now, we have the chance to test ourselves against the might of the world champions.

“We’re going out there to light the crowd up. The support at Twickenham was outstanding last week and we want to work hard on the pitch to make sure we have another atmosphere like that again on Saturday.”
