In lifting the Amlin Challenge Cup, the Saints ensured that the season would finish with a trophy for the first time since 2010. But the campaign is not over, and Dowson knows that nothing short of top form will be needed against the team that finished top of the Aviva Premiership table.
"The atmosphere that was incredible at Franklin's Gardens for the Leicester match carried on in Cardiff," he told SaintsTV. "To feel that and to hear the crowd was fantastic, right from the welcome off the bus.
"We've got one more game and we can't go over the top. The bigger picture is that we have to sacrifice partying for recovery and hitting the ground running on Monday to prepare for Saracens, because we know that they're going to be doing the same.
"It's going to be a hugely physical game but at the same time Saracens have got a big squad with loads of quality and depth. So they're going to put a side out at Twickenham that's full of class and that will be hungry for success."
