Two second half tries against high flying Exeter – including one for the wing himself - brought the league leaders back in touch from 6-21 down, but ultimately the half-time deficit cost them dear at the Gardens.
“Last weekend was very disappointing,” he told SaintsTV. “We didn’t really turn up in the first half and they capitalised.
“We know that, but we came out in the second half and played Saints rugby. Unfortunately it was too little too late but we need to take that forward this week.”
Just two points separate the Saints in first and Saracens in fourth and Elliott is more than aware that Mark McCall’s side present another big threat, even with the men in black, green and gold enjoying a good run against the Londoners.
“We know how to counteract Saracens’ style of play but it’s still about putting into practice what we want to do. They’ll be without a few key players - so are we and it should be a good game.
“They’ll be hungry to stop our good run against them but at the same time, we want to keep it going and it’ll be a case of who wants it more.”
The game, which kicks off at 1pm, is being shown live on BT Sport, while you can also follow the action as it unfolds at www.saintslive.co.uk
