England U20 head into their World Rugby Junior World Championship semi-final tomorrow with six Northampton Saints players in their matchday squad.
Wins over Ireland, USA and Argentina has seen Andy Titterrell’s progress to the final four in Georgia, where they face South Africa at Avchala Stadium on Monday 13 July (kick-off: 5.30pm UK time).
Prop Oliver Scola and lock Aiden Ainsworth-Cave both move to 17 U20 appearances, while fly-half Hugh Shields and fullback James Pater earn their respective fourth and eight caps at this level.
Two further Saints await their chances to impress as prop Sonny Tonga’uiha and scrum-half Jonny Weimann are named amongst the replacements.
Assistant coach Gareth Harris said: “After three challenging pool-stage encounters, we’ve continued to strengthen the connections across the group, building greater belief, ownership and unity in the way we approach each day.
“This week’s preparation has been centred on supporting one another to be increasingly decisive in key moments and maintaining our focus on continually levelling up our performance.
