Despite having scored two tries to the Chiefs one, it looked as though the Saints would be denied, but as the Sandy Park clock counted down the forwards went through the phases, Pisi crashed over and Stephen Myler nailed the extras.

“It shows the togetherness that we have as a team and we all play for each other,” Pisi told SaintsTV. “We’ve come a long way as a team this season.

“Exeter came at us in the second half but credit to the boys, we really stuck at it in those last 15 minutes. It’s just a case of going through the processes and being accurate at the right times.

“A Saints of previous years maybe would have come away with a loss but there’s a different feeling this year. It seems like we’re able to get the points when we really need them.”

They’ll need to be on their game next Saturday as well when fighting Worcester come to the Gardens off the back of a battling display against Leicester on Friday night. It’s a chance for the Saints to extend their new Premiership record winning streak to nine games though - 10 overall - and you can book tickets online now by CLICKING HERE
