Fotuali’i happy to be back

While his return to Franklin’s Gardens meant a premature finish to Samoa’s Rugby World Cup campaign, Kahn Fotuali’i says that it has been a rejuvenating fortnight being back in black, green and gold.

“It’s been awesome – straight after the World Cup I wanted to get straight back here and playing,” Fotuali’i told the official Saints podcast. “I saw it as a great opportunity to refresh from a rugby perspective, because we had a poor best World Cup.

“I love playing rugby and coming back to the Saint, mentally, was great for me and refreshing, which I think says a lot about the club and the coaches and players we have here.”

A livewire replacement at stadiummk last weekend, the Samoan is now eying up the Saints’ next challenge – tomorrow afternoon’s trip to the AJ Bell Stadium against a Sale side who also won convincingly last weekend.

“Each week is going to be tough, but we haven’t had great results up in Manchester over the past couple of years. We know that we’re in for a real dog fight and we know what to expect up there. We’ve just got to prepare well and I think that’s what we’ve done this week.”

You can listen to the full interview on the official Saints podcast HERE, where you can subscribe or listen online. This week also includes chats with Alan Dickens, Ethan Waller and Paul Hill – all for FREE!
