Gardens stay for back row duo

Having joined the Saints Academy in 2011, Kiwi-born and English-qualified Harrison made his senior debut as a 19-year-old against Wasps later that season.

After starts in last season’s European Challenge Cup quarter final and LV= Cup semi-final, the current season has seen a further increase in Harrison’s first team responsibilities and the tenacious openside has now racked up 22 appearances in the black, green and gold.

Fisher meanwhile headed for Franklin’s Gardens in the summer of 2014, producing a string of outstanding performances in pre-season to secure a full-time contract with the club.

That faith was quickly repaid when the Saxons back rower carried his excellent form into the start of the Aviva Premiership season – scoring on debut against Gloucester in September. It was a month in which the 25-year-old was also voted Steffans Player of the Month by the club’s supporters.

Director of rugby Jim Mallinder says he is pleased to have retained the duo.

“We’re delighted that both Teimana and Jon will be staying at the Gardens,” he commented. “Both players have played important roles in their time at the club and we’re confident that they have more to give, both during the run in and for the coming years.”
