Northampton Saints full-back George Furbank has been named Travis Perkins Player of the Month for September, after claiming a whopping 60% of the online supporter vote.
The 24-year-old England international scooped the award after edging out fellow nominees Tom Wood, Fraser Dingwall and Api Ratuniyarawa for his superb performances against Gloucester Rugby and Exeter Chiefs.
Furbank, who also slotted in at fly-half for periods of the two matches, scored Northampton’s first try of the new Gallagher Premiership season, scything through in the first half against Gloucester.
He also boasted two try assists and 223 metres with the ball in hand in September, as well as a 100% record from the kicking tee – which helped Saints to a vital last-gasp win down in Devon.
Saints and Travis Perkins have joined forces this season to offer supporters the chance to win fantastic prizes, while rewarding Northampton’s players for their stellar performances throughout the campaign.
This month’s winner was Joe Manktelow, who was selected at random out of almost 600 supporters who voted to win £50 worth of Saints Store vouchers.
