Academy manager Dusty Hare has thanked the Northampton Saints Supporters Club for their generosity in making a sizeable donation to the club’s Academy.

The Supporters Club handed over a cheque for £4,000 during the half-time break in the Saints’ Aviva Premiership Round 1 game against Bath, and Hare said that it will make a massive difference in helping the club’s young players.

“The donation is a magnificent gesture and I would like to thank all of the members of the Saints Supporters Club, both for the funds and the decision to get behind the Academy like this,” he said.

“The funds will help us in a range of off-field areas that are all important in bringing through the next generation of Saints players.

“We all know that the supporters in the stands have a special connection with the local lads who represent the first team, and a donation like this only makes this connection stronger.”
